Spaceship Library

Today my class traveled up to UCSD. To get there we had to plan a little. One of our classmates looked up times for the bus and we decided what would be a good time to go. We contacted someone who works there and they offered to meet us and show us around. We found out how much it cost for the bus and it was $2.25 one way per person. Not many of us had money, but luckily three classmates had money on them. We took the bus at about nine twenty. When I got on the bus I put the coins in the thing that you pay, but the coins got stuck so I had to dislodge them and put them back in, I think that made the bus driver impatient, whoops. When we finally got to UCSD we walked up the street to the campus. We decided that we were going to the library. When I saw the library it looked amazing. An awesome piece of architecture. I took a couple pictures of it for fun. We went downstairs to the science section, to research our planets, but I thought this place was very cool so I explored all of the shelves. Maybe I should have researched more, but exploring was more fun. On the fifth floor of the building we looked at books about Sumerians. There was a interesting one that had some old art in it. Then walked in Lisa, the person we had planned to meet. We already knew Lisa. We talked with her for a while, then she took us to her lab. When we got there, there were scientists inside doing some research. Lisa introduced us to them, and they told us about the work they do. They work in an anthropology lab with brains. One of the scientists actually brought out a real brain from a chimpanzee. The brain looked how I imagined. It was very interesting at the lab and I wished we stayed longer. We walked back to the bus stop, but we asked ourselves “why not walk back to school?” It took about 40 minutes to walk back and we were all tired. We had a fun time at UCSD, but next time we go there we have to each do our part in planning. It is definitely worth it though.
